Serenity Hospice Care is proud to be a partner with the “We Honor Veterans” program. Letitia Batton, MSW, PhD, is the Director of Social Service for Serenity Hospice. Letitia is a 16-year Army Veteran! Her personal experience as well as her experience of providing Social Services support to many Veterans has given her the keen insight how to respect and honor our Veterans throughout the various stages in life.

Letitia is providing comprehensive staff education to all Serenity Staff members regarding honoring, respecting and understanding the needs of our veterans at the end-of-life stage. This includes assisting Veterans and their family members to find out VA benefits available to them and to find ways to go the extra mile to support Veterans and their families by helping them with Volunteer Support, creating a “Legacy Book” of their accomplishments and achievements, how to replace missing/lost medals etc.
