Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

June 7, 2024 by manahil Skycare

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the importance of brain health and the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on individuals, families, and communities.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive neurological disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It is the most common form of dementia, accounting for 60-80% of dementia cases. Over 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and this number is projected to triple by 2050!

The brain is a complex and mysterious organ, and researchers are still working to understand the causes and mechanisms of Alzheimer’s. However, we do know that brain health is closely linked to overall health, and that lifestyle factors such as exercise, diet, and social engagement can play a role in reducing the risk of cognitive decline.

This month, let’s come together to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer’s research, care, and advocacy. We can wear purple to show our solidarity, participate in fundraising events, and engage in conversations about brain health and dementia.

By working together, we can create a world where people with Alzheimer’s are supported, empowered, and able to live their best lives. Let’s shine a light on brain health and Alzheimer’s awareness this month and beyond!
