During the first full week of April each year, the United States observes National Public Health Week as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight important issues that need improvement. Making communities safe and healthy is public health’s top priority. In the midst of the most challenging public health crisis of our lifetimes, it’s more important than ever to celebrate public health.

National Physicians Week is honored from March 25th to the 31st to commend the healers dedicated to the art of medicine. As we face the threat of COVID-19, we recognize the sacrifice, dedication, and honor of these healthcare heroes.

National Nutrition Month’s mission is invites the public to learn more about making informed food choices, and develop healthy eating habits, as well as physical activity habits. We celebrate National Nutrition Month every March to help The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics achieve it’s vision in which all thrive through the transformative power of food and nutrition.

There are more than 5.3 million children and adults in the United States who are living with a permanent brain injury-related disability. That is one in every 60 people. Brain Injury Month aims to de-stigmatize brain injuries and increase the understanding of these injuries as a chronic condition.

National Therapeutic Recreation Month highlights the importance of engaging in activities that aid in recover and the healing of people with various disabilities. We honor our recreation therapists and all that they do to help our patients and our residents heal in the most enjoyable way.
